The Start of Grafixiti
2022-2023
Street Art and Graffiti
Grafixiti was started by Evan Yazzie. In an attempt to connect both his street art and pop-punk aesthetic, he developed a logo in the shape of a spray paint can. The name Grafixiti comes from two words: Graffiti and graphics. To identify with a more professional visual piece he settled to make it as a monogram so that way it is simplistic but easily flexible.
Evan Yazzie is an art student who graduated from WSU with a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design. From an early age he was a troublemaker and would often spray paint trains, semis, and alleys. He was desperate to feel free from the rhythm of society. In high school a teacher told him to take his art and his feelings and spread them on the page. Telling him to make compelling art and design work that no one else had seen. After struggling to do this art he finally felt like this medium was worth exploring even more than his street art. As to signal his respects for his past work, he develops designs that station themselves in the same art style he once had. Only this time, they are professionally explored and designed.
